Indications:

Oxytocin has a specific activity on smooth muscle fibers, especially those of the uterus during labor and those of the mammary glandular acini. For these properties it is used in cases of: uterine inertia, puerperal uterine atony, retained placenta, intestinal constipation and to obtain complete evacuation of milk from the udder.

Dosage:

The product is administered intramuscularly during parturition and in cases of retained placenta. The product is administered intravenously in mastitis with udder edema.

Dosage in parturition:

Cattle: 5-10 ml of Izossitocina, equal to 50-100 IU

Equines: 5-20 ml of Izossitocina, equal to 50-200 IU

Sows: 2-5 ml of Izossitocina, equal to 20-50 IU

Dosage in retained placenta: 20 ml (200 IU) to be repeated after 2-4 hours so as to induce a series of long-lasting contractions.

In mastitis with udder edema, to obtain evacuation of stagnant milk, it is sufficient to inject intravenously 50 IU (5 ml) of Izossitocina and, after 5-10 minutes, proceed with milking. The subsequent infusion of antibiotics is thus facilitated and made more effective.

Stoppers must not be pierced more than 22 times.
