Indications:

Regenerative therapy in aseptic arthropathies of the horse characterized by degeneration of articular cartilage and the synovial membrane with impaired joint function, also associated with production of synovial fluid with poor or altered visco-elastic characteristics.

Dosage:

Dosage (for intra-articular administration): 1 ml of suspension equal to 5 mg of stanozolol in medium-sized joints (tarsus, fetlock) once a week. Weekly administration may be repeated up to 6 times depending on the severity and stage of progression of the arthropathy. In smaller joints (joints of ponies, foals or interphalangeal joints) the dosage may be proportionally reduced to 1–2.5 mg. Check correct needle placement in the joint cavity by the outflow of synovial fluid. Connect the syringe to the needle and infuse the product. In chronic arthropathies, clinical improvement may also appear as late as one month after the end of treatment and then consolidate through slow but steady progress; this latency period can be explained by the time required for the drug’s regenerative activity. Exercise aimed at rehabilitation shortens the time needed for tissue regeneration and reduction of symptoms.
