Indications:

Dexamethasone is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory syndromes, metabolic syndromes and allergic manifestations in cattle, pigs, horses, dogs and cats, in particular in cases of:

• acetonemia (ketosis);
• rheumatoid arthritis;
• inflammatory manifestations in general, articular and tendinous in particular (bursitis, synovitis, hydrarthrosis, hygromas, tendinitis); 
• edema disease of piglets - allergies and pruritus “sine materia”;
• canine dermatosis;
• control of inflammatory and stress components (in association with antibiotic treatment) during bacterial infectious diseases, acute mastitis of the cow and the sow.

Dosage:

Inject intramuscularly or intravenously.
In inflammatory forms of the limbs, intra-articular injection is recommended.
Cattle, adult horses: 10 ml (0.02-0.04 mg/kg b.w. corresponding to 0.02-0.04 ml/kg b.w./day).
Calves, foals, pigs: 5 ml (0.05-0.1 mg/kg b.w. corresponding to 0.05-0.1 ml/kg b.w./day).
Piglets: 0.5 - 1 ml (0.05-0.2 mg/kg b.w. corresponding to 0.05-0.2 ml/kg b.w./day).
Dogs and cats: 0.5 - 1 ml (0.05-0.2 mg/kg b.w. corresponding to 0.05-0.2 ml/kg b.w./day).
FATROCORTIN is intended for single administration, possibly repeatable only once after 24 hours.

Withdrawal periods:

Meat and offal - Cattle: 16 days. Pig: 3 days. Horse: 24 days.
Cow’s milk: 6 milkings equal to 72 hours.
Use not permitted in equidae producing milk for human consumption.
