Indications:

The veterinary medicinal product is indicated for the treatment of infestations caused by strains of parasites sensitive to moxidectin:

 

Large strongyles:

§  Strongylus vulgaris (adults and endoarterial stage)

§  Strongylus edentatus (adults and visceral stage)

§  Triodontophorus brevicauda (adults)

§  Triodontophorus serratus (adults)

§  Triodontophorus tenuicollis (adults)

               

Small strongyles (adults and intraluminal larvae):

§  Cyathostomum spp. 

§  Cylicocyclus spp. 

§  Cylicostephanus spp. 

§  Cylicodontophorus spp. 

§  Gyalocephalus spp. 

 

Ascarids:

§  Parascaris equorum (adults and larval stage)

The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent efficacy of two weeks against small strongyles. Egg shedding of small strongyles is suppressed for 90 days.

 

The veterinary medicinal product is effective against the larval (developing) intramucosal L4 stages of small strongyles.  Eight weeks after treatment, the early (hypobiotic) larval stages EL3 of small strongyles are eliminated.

Dosage:

Administer a single oral dose of 400 mg of moxidectin/kg body weight, using the calibrated syringe.

Before the first dose, hold the syringe so that the capped end faces left and the weight markings and graduation marks (small black lines) are visible. Set the syringe to zero by turning the rotating ring so that the left side is set on the first solid black mark and push the plunger, safely discarding the paste that comes out. To dose the product, hold the syringe as described above. Each mark corresponds to 25 kg body weight and 10 mg moxidectin. Turn the rotating ring until the left side of the ring is aligned with the animal’s weight.

 Accurate dosing is recommended using scales or a weight tape.

 

A single syringe treats a 700 kg horse.
