The egg reappearance period for small strongyles is 90 days.  The product is effective against the intramucosal larval stages L4 (developing) of small strongyles. 8 weeks after treatment, early hypobiotic EL3 larvae of small strongyles are eliminated.

Dosage:

The product must be administered as a single oral dose of 400 µg moxidectin/kg body weight and 2.5 mg praziquantel/kg of

body weight using the calibrated syringe with 25 kg b.w. graduations.

To ensure administration of a correct dose, the animal’s weight must be determined as accurately as possible; dosing accuracy must be checked.

The use of weighing systems is recommended to ensure correct dosing.

Before the first dose, hold the syringe so that the capped end faces left and the weight measurements and graduation marks (small black lines) are visible. Set the syringe to zero by turning the ring nut so that the left side is set on the first solid black mark and push the plunger, safely discarding the paste that is expelled. To dose the product, hold the syringe as described above. Each mark corresponds to 25 kg body weight and to 10 mg moxidectin and 62.5 mg praziquantel. Turn the ring nut until the left side of the ring is aligned with the animal’s weight.

A single syringe treats a 700 kg horse.

In case of treatment against cestodes, the praziquantel dose in the product has been selected at the upper limit of the  dosage range.

The veterinarian should provide an appropriate treatment and farm management program in order to achieve improved parasite control.
