Strongylus vulgaris
Strongylus edentatus
Strongylus equinus
Cyatostomum spp. (Trichonema spp.)
Triodontophorus spp.
Oxyuris spp.
Parascaris spp.

The product is also effective against strains of small strongyles resistant to benzimidazoles.
Dosage:
Strongid must be administered orally to horses, ponies and foals at least 8 weeks of age. It is not necessary to fast the animal before or after administration.
The following method of administration is recommended:
1. Determine the weight of the animal to be treated as accurately as possible.
2. Position the dosing ring along the plunger according to the animal’s weight.
3. Remove the cap from the syringe.
4. Place the paste on the back of the animal’s tongue. For this purpose, insert the tip of the syringe through the lip commissure, direct the syringe toward the back of the oral cavity and press the plunger. Administering the product with this technique makes it unlikely that it will be regurgitated. To facilitate swallowing, raise the animal’s head by placing one hand under the jaw.
The recommended dose for the treatment and control of strongyles, oxyurids and ascarids (excluding tapeworms) is 6.6 mg of pyrantel base per kg b.w.
This dose is achieved by administering the product according to the following schedule:
| Body weight | Dose: content of | Position of the dosing ring |
| 301 – 600 kg | 1 full syringe | 600 kg |
| 150 – 300 kg | ½ syringe | 300 kg |
The recommended dose for the treatment and control of tapeworms (Anoplocephala perfoliata) is 13.2 mg of pyrantel base per kg b.w. (double the dose recommended for the treatment of strongyles).
This dose is achieved by administering the product according to the following schedule:
| Body weight | Dose: content of | Position of the dosing ring |
| Up to 300 kg | 1 full syringe | 600 kg |
| from 301 to 600 kg | 2 full syringes | 600 kg |
If the environment where the animals live is such as to make reinfestation likely, it is advisable to administer Strongid every 4–6 weeks to obtain the best results.
